My last day on Elibank was pretty much a washout. Gales and heavy rain with the water coloring and millions of leaves catching every cast. I fished until lunchtime and drew stumps early for the long drive home.
No regrets. 9 salmon and a seatrout for my week and a nice fresh one in the deep freeze for Christmas – if we are ever allowed one.
My thanks to Eleanor and Adam at Elibank and David and the staff at the Traquair who are working so hard under very difficult circumstances.
Keep safe everyone and I hope to be back again next year.
