7th April 2022 Murthly on Tay

Upper Water:  Water 1ft 10ins on the Caputh gauge. A freezing cold and gusty downstream wind did not add any enjoyment.

We kept at it despite the conditions, assisted by the log burner in the hut and Donald’s excellent hot soup at lunchtime. But what you really need under these conditions is the occasional, spanking fresh, Springer get the blood pumping.  But to no avail, not even a tug. In fact not a single fish was seen by any of us all day. Sigh…
