More of the same…
Another day of baking hot sun from a cloudless sky. Water 1″ on Dalmarnock Gauge now – that’s about 6″ on Caputh gauge. I have never seen it this low, even in September. The talk now is a worry that there is no snow melt to come and the water is too low heading into the summer.
So, nothing to show for our efforts all day.
But hey-ho, it has been truly lovely to just be out on the river and there is no shame in blanking when conditions are against you. Added bonus is to learn all the possible taking places for when we have more water. Never to be under-estimated, the chance to see every rock and hole in the river.
Last day tomorrow. At least for Cecil and I, we will set off home again at lunchtime I think.
I will report any last-minute news when I get back.
