update from my phone…. water 2ft 6ins and clearing am, Cecil d lost 2 fish in spruces one of which broke him, before the gales and driving rain made the river rise again and colour. It couldn’t get any worse!

Unbelievable. Unbroken sunshine all day and fishing in shirtsleeves. Its the beginning of April for heavens sake! Water level stubbornly refuses to drop, no doubt due to snow melt from the highlands. We did see a small run of fish go through at about 2.30pm but they weren’t stopping for us. Frustrating or what?
