Water down to 8inches on the gauge, lower than I have ever seen it in April. That is the good news. At this height the fish have to slow up and the water is more easily covered.
The bad news is that the sun blazed down on us all day from a cloudless sky and with gin clear water the fish have no protection from it. So they are reluctant to run at all.
It was therefore a lovely day to be out on the river and a great day for teaching but nothing was seen or felt.
