Murthly 13th April 2019

Water steady at 1ft and just perfect. Weather overcast but a bitter strong east wind which did make fishing conditions unpleasant and difficult. But with a good team of rods we most certainly covered the water. I saw one small fish jump in the Ministers but otherwise I don’t think a single fish was seen all day.

I left at lunchtime but the others stayed on in vain.

So with nothing to show for our final day I have to admit we blanked for the first time since I first went to Murthly back in 1995. Yes we could have had two fish in the book both of which were on for a substantial time but that happens. Yes we could have had bad water heights, but we didn’t. The conditions generally were as good as it ever gets. The fact remains that there were very few fish.
