Description
Trout Fishing Course – 4 people
This is a one-day course (9.30am – 4.30pm) here at Little Saxbys Farm on the Kent/Sussex borders designed to introduce novices to the sport of trout fishing with a fly and held improvers to refine their skills. We cover everything from tackle to tactics, give a good grounding in the basics of casting a fly rod and ensure that everyone catches a fish or two, all in a fun, controlled and undemanding environment.
All you need to bring is: a packed lunch, a pair of (sun) glasses to protect your eyes, gumboots and waterproof clothing. You don’t need to bring any tackle as all tackle is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own and have it thoroughly checked over if you would prefer. Please arrive in time for a 9.30am start with coffee and an introductory talk.
The Course covers:
- Basic safety
- How to assemble the tackle
- Casting
- Entomology (fly life – what trout eat, etc)
- Hooking, playing and landing the fish.
- Catch and take home up to 4 fish each.
- How to prepare your catch for the table.
Tea and coffee is provided, but lunch is not included so we would ask you to please bring a packed lunch with you. If the weather is poor we generally go to the pub!
These courses are only run during the best fishing months of late-March and April. The cost of the course for 2022 is £150 to include all fishing and tuition and the loan of fishing tackle for the day, though you are welcome to bring your own if you have it.
Note This Trout Fishing Course can also be given in the form of a Gift Voucher
