3 DAY SALMON FISHING & SPEYCASTING IMPROVERS COURSE
Three-Day Spey Casting and Salmon Fishing Improver Course at Murthly Castle on Tay Beat 1 which includes Upper Murthly and Lower Murthly including the Glendelvine boat pool rotating on alternate days. The ghillie on Murthly 1 is Donald Tritton.
Murthly Castle is private water, with both banks, good access, nice easy wading and excellent facilities. In April we can get some of the best spring salmon fishing in Scotland but 2022 was a disappointing year with an unexpected arctic snap. I would normally expect 5 – 10 Salmon for my week. Please note all spring fish on the Tay must be returned.
The Improvers course is for anyone who has already attended one of my beginners Salmon Courses, or for those who have at least had some formal instruction, the emphasis will be more about you fishing with me coming to see you to help and advise you how to improve your technique and add to your skill set.
The cost of my improvers course at Murthly for 2024 is £525, all fishing and tuition and including the hire of fishing tackle should you need it. The cost does not include the usual ghillie’s tip (about £15/day/rod) or your accommodation for which my groups get a special rate at the Birnam House Hotel, Birnam by Dunkeld Dunkeld.
