Sorry for the rather sporadic reports but broad band here, I think means broad rubber-band, I am not even attempting to upload pictures or it will crash again.
Anyway, the water has held at about 1ft 8ins since Saturday, still an awkward height for us. But we had 2 Salmon of 10lbs and 8lbs on Monday, one from the boat in the Girnals and the other from the left bank of the Birn.
Today we were on the lower water and had 2 fish this morning both 12lbs and both fresh as paint for Derek C both on the fly adding to his one from the Birn yesterday – well done Derek! Andrew I also had a fish on, from the Spruces side of the Ministers, for over 15 minutes before it came unstuck.
This will be the last report from Murthly as I finish tomorrow to drive South for a change of clothes before flying out to Varzuga on Friday. News of our week there can be found on the Roxtons blog.
Meantime my thanks to Donald Tritton and to all the staff at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel for what has been a fantastic three spring weeks of 19 Salmon, 18 Salmon and 1 Sea-trout and 4 Salmon so far this week with 4 days still to run.
POST SCRIPT – update after my return… The remaining 4 days of the week produced another 17 Salmon to bring my final weeks tally to 21. Breaking the record set the week before. What a fantastic result for the Tay.
